Tucked away down one of the many small roads in Thao Dien lies Surf Shack. A small little Burger Joint which has been firing out great burgers for 5 years.
This Japanese owned venue puts the umami in it’s food at every level, using great ingredients and mixing it with cooking perfection.
We tried their Rodeo Burger, a steal at 110k VND, and it blew our mind. All the right tastes, Amazing flavours, and at that price point easily the best burger in town. (maybe that and any price point)
Comfortable little place, bench seating, couple of chairs outside and decent music make this a great burger place to check out.
Another Thao dien opening, Burger Boss and it’s owner have been smashing out Smashed burgers since march 2020.
The owner a self confessed burger addict, has been dreaming of her own shop since the age of 5. And the concept does not disappoint.
They have a Light and airey shop with a beautiful back courtyard to relax in.
Burger wise they make everything in store from the buns through to the burgers and also some amazing Milkshakes.
Price is from 130k, and if you go don’t forget the chips. triple cooked to perfection.
Snap CAFE
Snap Cafe has been smashing out amazing burgers for over 10 years, and has never looked back since.
With a wonderful inside / outside flow to the places nice seating a attentive staff it’s a great place to visit. Even better if you have kids, they have a great play section for them to burn off energy in.
The menu is not just about burgers, they have a great selection of European dishes and breakfast delights. However their 10 burgers on the menu are amazing.
We tried out the fire burger, with chips this was around 180k, Aussies beef and great taste.

Hungry Bunny
Hungry bunny has been around for quite a while, and it is only recently that news came out about the amazing burgers they had.
It’s a Bistro in style, with comfort food and a few salads adorning the menu. But it’s the burgers that we had heard about so the burgers we were going to try.
Black and white tiled flooring and white walls give it a little French bistro feel to it when you walk in.
We went for the Blue bunny, a great burger with blue cheese, bacon, homemade buns and US Beef. As you’d expect an amazing taste, great combination of flavours and the beef was incredible.
Price wise expect to spend around 200k ($8) to have a good feed and drink. Check them out in district 1, Saigon
