Hidden amongst the madness in District 1 you’ll see a tiny sign advertising a little hidden gem among the bar scene in HCM.
Climb bar has been open since 2020 but due to no advertising, even living here you may not know it exist.
The owners wanted to create a community which means word of mouth, great cocktails and that intimate feeling you rarely get from high street bars.
Well priced cocktails compliment the 3 floors this bar is spread out over, drinks start at around 200k or $8.

The original Speakeasy in Saigon. Snuffbox combines great cocktails, live music and that prohibition styling within an old colonial building deep in the heart of district 1.
A mixed western and Vietnamese crowd makes this a great venue to lounge away the hours. But if you like to be entertained you can turn up for Live music on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. A Great happy hour every day from 6pm make this a great hang out joint.
Cocktails start around 160k and go up depending on your tipple of choice.
To the north eastern side of district one you can find the gin house. A venue which from humble beginnings has turned into a bit of a juggernaut in the cocktail and music scene.
Originally this venue was a slip of a venue, but last year they doubled in size. Increased the already huge list of gins on offer and added live music every day of the week.
Due to this and it being an awesome venue it’s rarely not go a great vibe on. With the numerous Japanese and gourmet eateries surrounding the venue makes for a great evening out.
Maybe the most Vietnamese venue in terms of people who go there. Don’t be afraid if it’s not your first language as the crowd is one of the friendliest in town.
The venue hidden away over two floors just a street away from pastuer street in District 1. The bar is located down a little 1 meter wide alley, which takes you to a little stair case, hop up a flight of stairs and you’ll see an iron door.

With a great selection of cocktails ranging over three menus, knowledgeable staff and live music, it’s a stunning little hangout for those in the know!
From the same people who bought ATM, Alley bar & kitchen among others there recent installment is called Tre Eatery & Bar located on the northern side of district 1
To find it walk down a residential looking alley way and find a place called the Yellow Cafe – note there are no signs at this point. Walk through the front door, to the back and go up some stairs, the cabinet which has some whiskeys inside is actually the door. just give it a light push and you’ll find your way inside.
The bar is a wonderful mix of French colonial Vietnam with a smattering of Japanese influence, great cocktails, a wonderful food menu and private areas for birthdays make this a great spot for most occasions!
12J – Lầu 1 – Đường Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Hồ Chí Minh
Cozy Eatery & bar only opened in 2020 and tucker to the far north west of d1 makes it quite a hard little find, but what a little gem of a place it is.
With a great signature cocktails list, a really cozy friendly staff amazing food, and a crowd who are open to meeting new friends this is one of the top finds on this trip.
The cocktails are beautifully well balanced and for the price probably some of the best value in town.
They have live music events coupled with tasting menus on Thursdays and Sundays where you get to taste a little bit of heaven from food to drink.
